The celebration of baptism begins the initiation and faith journey of your child and is a joyful experience for our community of faith as it brings new life into our parish. Having your child baptized also marks the beginning of new responsibilities and commitment on the part of you, the parents, and the St. Thomas More Catholic Community. Through this sacrament, our goal is to journey with you and your family in support of your family’s spiritual needs. It is our honor and pleasure to accompany you as you begin to pass on the faith to your child. We take these responsibilities and commitments very seriously and are excited to partner with you in the faith formation of your child.
For infants and children under the age of 7, baptisms are celebrated either during the weekend Mass you and your family attend or on Sundays at 1:30 pm in the Church.
Our Baptism Preparation session, which is required, is offered on the first Wednesday of each month (unless otherwise announced) in the Community Center from 6:30 to 8:30 pm. This session can be attended at any time (even before the baby is born). The dates and links to RSVP for Baptism Preparation sessions are listed below. It is important for both parents and the godparents to attend this session. If the godparents belong to another Catholic community, they can attend a baptism preparation session at their parish and provide a letter or certificate of completion.
