Becoming Catholic (OCIA) for Youth
Helping parents nurture their child’s faith is a privilege, and we are committed to supporting your family every step of the way. Our goal is to provide a strong foundation in the Catholic faith while accompanying children as they grow in their relationship with Christ.
If your child is 7 years of age or older and has not yet been baptized, they will participate in the Order of Christian Initiation (OCIA) process. We offer age-appropriate OCIA classes specifically designed for children and youth. This faith formation journey typically spans two years.
During the first year, children attend classes with others in their age group while actively participating in the life of the Church through regular Mass attendance. During the second year, students prepare to receive the Sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation, and First Holy Communion, which are celebrated at the Easter Vigil, held on the evening before Easter Sunday.
Regular participation in both faith formation classes and Mass is essential for children preparing for full initiation into the Catholic Church. This program represents an important commitment for both children and their families, and includes opportunities for parent involvement and formation.
We look forward to accompanying you and your child on this joyful journey of faith and helping your family grow closer to Christ and His Church.
