NATIONAL SOCIAL MINISTRY

 

TROOP SUPPORT PROGRAM

The STM Social Ministry Commission— National committee has started a new
program to support our troops by providing aid and comfort to those deployed and in harms way. The mission of the program is to support any troop that is away from home and in need of a friendly voice and a pat on the back for a job well done. The committee needs parishioners to send names and addresses for troops they know would like to receive letters of support. Another goal of the program is to start sending comfort packages as soon as possible. If they’re deployed we need the date the deployment will end. If you don’t know of any troops, you can still be a big help by writing letters and preparing comfort packages. If you would like to simply donate items for
comfort packages we will get them shipped out.

DEPLOYED?

Do you know of a St. Thomas More parishioner who is serving in the military and deployed overseas? The National Social Ministry of STM is trying to identify our parishioners who are fighting for our country so that we can be of support to them. How important it is to them to know they are not forgotten. We often mail them letters, cards, care packages, etc. If you can help us find addresses for any of these brave men and women, please call Dorothy and Rich at 435-3025 or email them at stm4thetroops@aol.com.
