Question of the Week

For all who are new to this corner, “Question of the Week” is designed to help you and your child reflect on next week’s gospel and each week the catechist will talk to the children about the gospel and get feed back about their discussion with you.

After you speak to your child about the question of the week have your child bring a written response with their name on it to class and put it in the box near the reception desk in the Community Center. Each week two slips will be pulled and the responses will be published in the bulletin.

You will find the gospel reading and question of the week on the “BLUE SHEET” which can be found online (click to be directed there) or in the foyer of the church & community center.

ANSWERS TO THE QUESTION:

Ben Martin: The hardest thing about following Jesus is probably thinking positive thoughts. It’s hard to remember that He’s there. If you get discouraged just think positive and remember He’s with you and maybe you’ll feel better. You can be “a fisher of others” in today’s world by telling someone stories from the Bible and Gospel. The one thing Jesus is asking me to change is how I react around others. I would try to achieve this goal by a certain time and if I
don’t achieve it by the time limit I’d get mad and pray a little more and try again.

Connor F.: The hardest thing about following Jesus in today’s world for us young people is there’s so much temptation from others that are causing us to do bad things. I could see me being a “fisher” by connecting with friends and
helping them to make the right decision. The one thing that Jesus is a asking me to do is to pray more at night and praise God more in my everyday life.
