YOUNG DISCIPLES

The Young Disciples are the teen-based leadership group within Life Teen. These teens were invited to discern Young Discipleship during their Confirmation process. After the teens make their Confirmation, they receive a letter from the Directors of Life Teen and YD Coordinators. This letter invites them to pursue their leadership journey within the parish. They are asked to write a letter about why they believe they are being called and chosen and what they feel they can bring to the group. They're also asked to complete a formal application. If their letter and application is accepted within the allotted time frame and they have a positive meeting with the YD Coordinators, they are invited to join the group.
Young Disciples meet every Sunday at 4:15 p.m. in the community center. They are encouraged to attend the Life Teen Mass, Life Nights, Retreats and all other events provided by or hosted by Life Teen. As teen leaders, they are invited to become involved in the planning and implementation of all Life Teen activities. They are also an important part of the More Youth Breaking Open The Word Nights as well as the More Youth 8th Grade Crossroads Retreat.
Being apart of this group is a great way to earn leadership credibility in the church, at school and even for future colleges.
