St. Thomas More Life Teen Program

WHO ARE WE

The Parents For Life (PFL) ministry is one of inclusion. It is open to all adult members of the parish who can commit to the ministry’s goals, and who are willing to invest time into fulfilling them. While many members of Parents For Life are parents of teens in the Life Teen program, PFL is open to all adults, including those who have never had a child go through the Life Teen Program.

MISSION STATEMENT

The goals of St. Thomas More Parents for Life are to bring parents and teens closer to Christ in their daily lives, and, at the same time to provide for their spiritual nourishment. These goals are accomplished through the support of the Life Teen program, Parents For Life nights, committee activities, & periodic parent retreats.

WHAT WE DO

The Parents For Life ministry meets Sunday nights in the Community Center, after the LIFE TEEN Mass. Our meetings run until the Teen Life Nights are over. The structure of Parents For Life nights vary, and we endeavor to provide a variety of experiences to maintain interest and vitality of our meetings. Sometimes the group will discuss relevant social or religious topics, or engage in prayer sessions. Most of the topics will be similar to those covered during the Life Nights of the teens. This often encourages “at home” discussions with teens. We strive to have at least one social event each month to simply enjoy each other’s company. PFL Core typically lead our discussions and prayer sessions. Our meetings give us the opportunity to explore our Catholic beliefs in order to help us and our families grow in our faith.

Our calendar typically follows that of the LIFE TEEN program (see below).

CORE TEAM

The Parents For Life Core Team is made up with about 10-12 members who fit a certain criteria and have shown extreme interest & support for the program. They meet once a month with the Directors of Life Teen. The Core Team typically lead the Sunday evenings and oversee the volunteers at events. This team deals with administrative and organization issues.

Current PFL Core Members are: Deacon Bob Rudloff, Laurie Rudloff, Cheryl Schwarz, Dan Schwarz, Vickie Rylant, Patti Cameron and Bernadette Schmitz.
